KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the 63rd Independence Day of India, the Indian Embassy here handed over school buses, ambulances and educational materials to a number of Nepali organisations today.

The embassy donated 20 ambulances, four school buses and educational materials to organisations based in 13 districts at a function organised in the capital.

On the occasion, Indian ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood handed over the keys of the ambulances and school buses to the representatives of the organisations.

Ambassador Sood also read out the Independence Day message sent by Indian President Pratibha Patil.
