KATHMANDU: Renowned folk-rock singer and social activist Amrit Gurung met senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC whos is staging 16th hunger strike in Ilam and expressed his solidarity.

Amrit Gurung, along with the band, Nepathya who are en-route to Phidim of Panchthar district, took a detour to Ilam and met with Dr KC at the District Hospital.

Also, Nepathya frontman urged concerned authorities to address agitating Dr KC's demands and create a conducive environment to break his 16th fast-unto-death once and for all.

Amrit Gurung has raised voice against corruption, human trafficking, social inequality and crime against humanity in Nepal during his concerts all over the world.

Meanwhile, Medical reformist Dr KC has been staging hunger strikes demanding reforms in the medical education sector of Nepal.
