Anarchy follows revolution, says NC-D leader Giri

Kathmandu, June 9:

A state of lawlessness emerges after the success of every great revolution, a central member of the NC (D) Pradeep Giri said today. “Revolutions always defy law and order. The recent movement also became successful only after defying prohibitory orders and curfews,” Giri said, adding, “The legality of the government formed after the success of the movement should not be questioned.”

Giri was addressing the concluding session of a three-day symposium on Constituent Assembly and Inclusive Democracy for Conflict Transformation.

He also urged the Seven-Party Alliance and the Maoists to resolve the present crisis. Participants at the symposium said the new constitution, to be introduced after the Constituent Assembly poll, should institutionalise multiparty system, inclusive democracy and abolish feudal system.
