Russian envoy calls on Speaker
KATHMANDU: Russian Ambassador to Nepal Andrey Sergeevich Budnik held a meeting with Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar at the latter's office.
According to the Speaker’s Secretariat, they discussed historical relationship between the two countries and agreed to strengthen the cordial relationship further.
On the occasion of completion of 60 years of diplomatic relations between two nations, Ambassador Budnik also handed over an invitation for Russia visit to Gharti sent by the Chairman of Upper House in Russia.
Speaker Onsari also extended her thanks on behalf of the government for the technical, economic, agricultural and infrastructural help Russia has lend over the years.
She also expressed her hope to receive the same kind of help in the future as well and encouraged Russian business community to invest more in the country.
Similarly, Budnik urged Gharti to establish stability in the country through the implementation of the Constitution and help in the developmental works.
Speaker Onsari also thanked the representative for the help and support of all kinds from the country during the post-quake situation last year.
Chief Secretariat of Legislature-Parliament Manohar Prasad Bhattarai, Secretary Mukunda Sharma and representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present in the meeting.
