ANNFSU plans students’ demo on Dec 2
Kathmandu, November 22:
The All-Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) is making preparations to bring all the schoolchildren and college students to the streets of the valley on December 2 for the sake of people-oriented education and a democratic republican setup. “We are busy convincing the schoolchildren that they have the right to people-oriented education,” said Thakur Gaire, the ANNFSU general secretary.
“The students will continue to hold demonstrations unless the government ensures people-oriented education and agrees not to impose nationalistic education,” Gaire said. The CPN-UML and the ANNFSU, the students’ wing of the party, have announced that a demonstration for the sake of a democratic republic will be staged in the valley on December 2. “Nowhere in the world have autocratic regimes lasted for long,” Gaire said, adding: “The King has to bow down sooner or later.”
