ANNFSU, TU employees continue agitation
Kathmandu, January 5:
The All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) gave continuity to the agitation launched with the objective of pressing the government to appoint vice-chancellors in Tribhuvan, Purbanchal, Nepal Sanskrit and Pokhara universities today as well.
It organised an hour-long sit-in in front of the South gate of Sinhadurbar from 11 am.
Thakur Gaire, the ANNFSU president, said fresh protests will be announced very soon.
“The protests will be announced after holding a central committee meeting of the ANNFSU,” he said.
The Tribhuvan University Employees’ Association (TUEA) boycotted the TU examinations today affecting the exams of the Master’s level.
Announcing a fresh protest programme, Shambhu Prasad Bhattarai, the Tribhuvan University Employees’ Association president, said, “The employees will organise an hour-long sit-in in front of all unit offices in all TU-affiliated and constituent campuses of the Tribhuvan University every day until January 10.
The next phase of the agitation will be announced on January 10 after organising a protest meet at the TU central campus on the same day.
