Association of Nepali Teraian in America (ANTA) has announced it will launch the 'ANTA Educational Scholarship Programme' to support deserving and aspiring students of the Teraian community in the US.
According to a press release issued by ANTA, the announcement was made during its annual general meeting held in Lexington, KY on June 10. The participating ANTA members pledged a total of $3,700 a year for five years, totalling $18,500 for the scholarship fund.
Additionally, ANTA announced it would continue its free language classes, financial literacy webinars and webinars on contemporary issues, cultural events, and picnics, among others, to educate its community residing in the US and Nepal.
The Young Dreamers Foundation will provide $500 to a student each year for the upcoming five years. To be eligible for this, an aspirant should be a rising senior (12th grader) in an American public school system. The parents of the applicant must be a member of ANTA who should have roots in Nepal's Tarai region.
The aspirants must be willing to organise at least one activity upon winning the award for ANTA members' children at their own convenience.
