Appeal to work for lasting peace

Bhaktapur, September 7:

Minister for Industry and Commerce Astha Laxmi Shakya has urged all political parities to work in tandem to restore peace.

Inaugurating the second general assembly of Buddha Lyama Pucha and the fifth annual general assembly of the Madhyapur Thimi branch of Dharmodaya Sabha, Shakya said all Nepalis, including members of political parties, should take initiatives to give a boost to peace.

“All political leaders should be committed to ensuring a state free from violence,” she said. Nepal, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, can bring about lasting peace by following Buddha’s teachings, the minister said.

“In a secular state, all religions should be treated equally,” she said.
