Attack on Rawal flayed

Kathmandu, February 24:

The CPN-UML today condemned the “organised” attack on party central committee member and former minister, Bhim Rawal, near his residence at Ghattekulo on Thursday evening.

Rawal, who was returning home after attending the two-day central committee meeting, was assaulted by a group of unknown persons at around 6 pm. Rawal’s car was also damaged in the attack.

“The party condemns the organised attack on Rawal, who was recently freed from one-month government detention,” said a press statement issued by the party’s office secretary, Kashinath Adhikari.

The statement has demanded the government take strong action against those responsible for the Thursday attack and provide compensation for the damages to the vehicle.
