Badis announce fresh protests
Kathmandu, September 1:
The agitating Badi Rights Struggle Committee announced a five-day protest programme beginning today by organising a whistle rally in front of the ministers’ quarter at Pulchowk for half-an-hour.
Organising a press conference here today, the BRSC informed that they would gherao the PM’s residence at Baluwatar on Sunday and hand over a memorandum to PM Girija Prasad Koirala. On Monday they would organise a torch rally.
BRSC said the Badis would enter the prohibited area of the Singhadurbar and shout slogans on Tuesday and organise a corner meet at Ratnapark on Wednesday with the representatives of several human rights organisations and the civil society.
Meanwhile, the Dalit Civil Movement has expressed solidarity to the BRSC’s protest programmes, saying its members would take part in all the protest programmes of the Badis.
