Badis seek basic rights

Kathmandu, January 1:

The National Badi Rights Struggle Committee has asked the government to do its bit for the marginalised Badi community.

NBRSC has asked the government to ensure financial, social and cultural rights for the Badis and to bring them into the political mainstream. They have demanded representation in local, as well as national, bodies such as land reform commission, women commission and poverty alleviation fund. Peace minister Janardan Sharma said he would place the concerns of Badis before the Constituent Assembly.
