Kathmandu, November 3:

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has declared Maitighar Mandala a protest-prohibited area.

The place had become a favourite spot for several organisations and the public to stage protests. The protests had taken its toll on the Mandala.

CDO Dhruba Sharma said the local administration had decided to prohibit all concerned from organising protests because the KMC had a plan to develop the area. The KMC has invested a huge sum to beautify Mandala. He said the DAO had requested those willing to launch peaceful protests to use Khulamanch.
