KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday night seized bank cheques of face value Rs 2.25 million and Rs 35,000 cash from a car after its driver ran away to avoid the routine security check, in Bhaktapur.

The driver of the four-wheeler (ba 7 Cha 1195) from had left the car and run away while police stopped it for examination, in Kamal Binayak, Bhaktapur-4.

The police searched the vehicle to find the cheques, cash and two bottles of beer, police said.

While looking for the absconding motorist, police are investigating into the case.
