BHAKTAPUR: The Madhyapur Thimi Municipality has sealed the under-construction building of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

The municipality sealed the building — to be made into a training academy for Air Traffic Controller (ATC) — in Gaththaghar of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3, after CAAN started construction without taking prior approval from the local government.

The CAAN had started the construction of its two-storied training academy building at the estimated cost of Rs 70 million a month ago.

With the sealing, construction of the building has come to a standstill.

It may be noted that the then Department of Aviation had occupied around 400 Ropanis of land owned by local people for the operation of aviation related services.
