KATHMANDU: A poultry farm caught fire in Tathali of Bhaktapur on Wednesday, destroying property worth Rs 800,000.

The farm owned by Dil Bahadur Bala in Tathali, Mahamanjushree Nagarkot Municipality-2 had caught fire.

As many as 1,100 chickens died in the fire while a hut was completely destroyed.

Police assisted by locals had contained the fire.

Further investigation is underway.
