BHAKTAPUR: The secretaries of 16 VDCs in Bhaktapur resumed work in respective offices on Monday.

The secretaries announced an indefinite closure of VDC offices yesterday demanding the release of Ram Prasad Pokharel, Sipadole VDC secretary, who was held for interrogation on the charge of verifying village piece of land as the one in town. The officials joined their duty after Pokharel was released on the guarantee of the District Development Committee. Pokharel's verification had enabled a broker to sell the land patch by means of fake documents. The stir ended when Bhakapur administration agreed yesterday to either prove Pokharel guilty or set him free within a week.
