Bhasha-Sahitya Sangh Nepal established

Kathmandu, September 13

Bhasha-Sahitya Sangh Nepal was established today at the initiative of Nepal Cultural Association.

The Sangh was established under the chairmanship of litterateur and journalist Hari Adhikari.

Biyogi Budhathoki, Thakur Belbase, Sarita Aryal and Motiram Bam are vice-chairperson, general secretary, secretary and treasurer of the sangh respectively.

Members of the Sangh include Dhruba Sapkota, Banmali Nirakar, Gokul Adhikari, Saru Subedi, Shyam Regmi, Keshav Sigdel, Chandraman Yonghang, Dhruba Madhukarmi, Mandita Marasini and Shanti Sapkota.

On the occasion, NC leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said the Sangh would play a crucial role in addressing the controversy over changes sought in the Nepali language.

He said, “The Sangh will play a significant role in the protection and promotion of Nepali language and literature.”

Chairman of Nepal Television Mahesh Dahal, General Secretary of Nepal Press Union, Ajaybabu Siwakoti, among others, expressed their views on the occasion.
