KATHMANDU: A man, who was riding on his motorbike, died after being hit by a passenger bus in Tinkune of Kathmandu on Friday.

Police said Hari Gopal Shrestha (47) from Nala-3 of Kavre district breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Minbhawan-based Civil Service Hospital at around 11 am today.

Shrestha's bike (Ba 26 Pa 4338) was hit by the bus (Ba 3 Kha 2056) half an hour before that.

Meanwhile, police said the victim was a former Nepal Army Lieutenant.

The driver is on the run, but police impounded the vehicle for further investigation.
