Nidhi confident of amendment bill endorsement
KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi has expressed his belief that the Constitution amendment bill tabled in the Parliament would be passed.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Bajrabarahi Municipality's third municipal council in Lalitpur, DPM Nidhi said the Parliament was the place to 'find solutions' and any sort of dissatisfaction should be resolved there.
"You are free to vote against it; but protesting to bar the discussion itself would be wrong," the DPM said hinting at the House obstruction staged by the main opposition party CPN-UML among others.
He also expressed a confidence to hold local, provincial and federal elections on time, that is by January 2018.
Meanwhile, Nidhi asked the concerned authorities to be ready for the same.
