Bird flu was discovered in turkey, ducks, and chicken in local poultry farms of Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 31

Bird Flu has been detected in Tarkeshwor Municipality of Kathmandu. The flu was discovered in birds including turkey, ducks, and chicken in local poultry farms.

The central animal disease investigation laboratory, after testing samples of birds through the PCR method, confirmed that they were carrying the virus.

According to Department of Livestock Services, necessary measures have been taken to stop the spread of the avian influenza.

Meanwhile, experts have advised to only consume meat products after cooking them properly to avoid contraction of the flu.
