Bishal Bazaar shop gutted

A readymade fancy shop called The Horizon on the first floor of Bishal Bazaar was completely gutted this afternoon. The two adjacent shops were partially damaged, police said.

The fire started due to a short circuit at around 4:30 pm, according to ward police station Janasewa’s office which is located on the ground floor of the shopping complex,. The fire could be brought under control within 20 minutes with the joint effort of Juddha Barun Yantra, Fire Fighting Unit of Nepal Police and the security forces.

The damage caused to shop number 132 B is yet to be ascertained, said the shop-owned Jhule Lal Agrawal. There was a chaos inside the supermarket as the smoke suffocated the shoppers.
