Bishwo Bhasa Campus padlocked

KATHMANDU: Students affiliated to the Nepal Students Union (NSU) indefinitely padlocked Biswo Bhasa Campus from Monday, demanding that the election of Free Students Union (FSU) be held at the earliest.

The NSU also demanded the campus administration to take fresh admission of the students and properly utilise its letterheads. "While all campuses throughout the country have elected their new FSU panels, the college administration is showing no sign of holding FSU polls. The college is also not taking new admissions," Prakash Rawal, president of the NSU's campus unit, said.

He accused that campus chief Yadav Raj Panta had failed to create environment conducive for election. "Blank letterheads with the signature of campus chief and campus' stamp are being used even though we closed the administration about a month ago," he added.

However, Ranjit Tamang, central member of the ANNISU-Revolutionary, said, they wanted to hold elections after the upcoming exams. "We want to start the regular classes now," he added.

Santosh Raj Kharel, a fourth semester student at the campus, lashed out at the campus chief and other teachers for not attending the classes regularly.
