A book based on the personal diplomatic experience of Nepal’s former ambassador to France, Mohan Krishna Shrestha, was launched in the capital today.

The book Kutnitima Tin Dasak (three decades in diplomacy), penned by the former diplomat was unveiled by his 93-year-old mother Sakuntala Shrestha and song writer Ratna Shamsher Thapa.

Speaking at the book launch function, Shrestha said the book recounts his three-decade experience as a career diplomat, his missions and postings abroad, and the country’s diplomatic dealings in the past and now. He has also stressed the need for appointing ambassadors, who can promote our national interests in the host countries.

“I hope the book will be interesting to those who are new entrants in the field of diplomacy,” said Shrestha. “It’s a practical book as it is based on personal experience.”

Completing his over four-year stint as Nepal’s ambassador to France, Shrestha had returned home on in August, 2014.
