Bravo, says Danish envoy

Kathmandu, April 24:

Danish ambassador to Nepal Finn Thilsted, issuing a press statement today, said his country congratulated Nepali people on the anniversary of the people’s movement, that one year ago gave new hope for a peaceful and democratic Nepal.

“This is a day of celebration as the peace process in Nepal has seen great achievements. The Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the interim constitution, the interim parliament and the formation of the eight-party interim government are crucial steps towards lasting peace and inclusive democracy — even though the process has been slower than expected,” said the Danish ambassador.

“Elections to the Constituent Assembly must be free and fair and inclusive — and all sectors of the Nepali society must work together to secure that such elections can take place as soon as possible,” the statement added.
