KATHMANDU: Brigadier General Tara Bahadur Karki has been recommended the new spokesperson of Nepal Army (NA), replacing the current spokesperson Brigadier General Jagadish Chandra Pokharel.

Karki has been taking the responsibility of the Chief of Staff of the NA Western Region Division, Pokhara so far.

The Army Headquarters has already sent a proposal on Karki’s appointment to the Council of Ministers.

Incumbent spokesman Pokharel will assume leadership of the Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri. He has served as the spokesperson for two years.

Both Karki and Pokharel are contemporaries. They will formally take charge of their new responsibilities within a couple of days after the Council of Ministers endorses the proposal.
