Bring all forces on board: Prez

KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav urged the leaders to incorporate the people’s feedback to the maximum possible extent while updating the draft of the new constitution.

During his separate meetings with Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang at Shital Niwas on Friday, the Head of State advised them to make efforts to involve even the political forces that are outside the CA in the constitution-writing process.

President Yadav told Nembang that he was impressed by the overwhelming public feedback on the first draft of the statute.

The CA chair apprised the President about the process to incorporate the public feedback in the statute.

According to President’s Press Adviser Rajendra Dahal, the Head of State told the PM and the CA chair to give enough time to review the public response to the draft .

PM said the public feedback would be incorporated in the final draft and the government would try to bring all the parties outside the CA, and even those who have refused to be part of the drafting process, on board.
