KATHMANDU, JANUARY 23
The British Council's Cultural Protection Fund has marked its tenth year of operation, continuing efforts to safeguard cultural heritage at risk from conflict and climate change in Nepal and other countries.
Since 2022, the Fund has supported projects in Nepal focusing on endangered languages, traditional art forms, Himalayan monasteries and indigenous food practices. As part of its 2026 programme, the British Council organised a capacity-building workshop for 33 heritage professionals from January 20 to 23.
The Cultural Protection Fund operates in 19 countries worldwide and is supported by the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
