KATHMANDU: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Sunday summoned the budget session of the Parliament at 4:00pm on April 29 on the government’s recommendation.

The budget session endorses the government’s policy and programmes and fiscal budget.

As per the constitutional provision, the government is required to present the fiscal budget on May 29 every year. The new session of the Parliament will pass or reject crucial bills presented in the Parliament in the last session and new bills that will be registered in the Parliament in the coming weeks.

Among key bills that the next session of the Parliament may debate are the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Police Bill and National Human Rights Act (Amendment) Bill.
