KATHMANDU: An elderly woman died after being hit by a passenger bus near Pipalbot in Chabahil of Kathmandu, on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Bet Kumari Bhattarai (76) from Mayurdhap in Makawanpur district, currently residing in Gaurighat of Kathmandu.

Bhattarai had sustained serious injuries after the hit from the vehicle (Ba 4 Kha 2416) and was rushed to the Medicare Hospital in Chabahil for treatment.

But, she breathed her last while undergoing treatment there.

The bus driver has been detained and the bus impounded for further investigation.
