KATHMANDU: A woman died and a man sustained injuries when a motorcycle was hit by a bus near Balaju Bypass of Kathmandu on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Ganga Phuyal (35) and the injured as Raj Kumar Phuyal (38) of Goldhunga.

According to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju, the Phuyal duo were riding on the motorcycle (Ba 74 Pa 6661) when the bus (Na 3 Kha 6216) hit the it at around 5:30 am today.

Following the accident, locals of Balaju had obstructed the road for a while.

The bus has been impounded and its driver has been taken under police custody for investigation.
