KATHMANDU, JUNE 9

The Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Civil Service (16th Amendment) Regulation, 2083, during a meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Briefing the media after the meeting, government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel said the Cabinet also formed a nine-member ad hoc committee under the chairmanship of Bishal Bhandari to oversee leadership and managerial affairs of the Nepal Red Cross Society.

The meeting further granted permission to four hydropower projects to use national forest areas. The projects are the Lower Arun Hydropower Project, Lower Nyadi Hydropower Project, Ghunsa Khola Hydropower Project and Tadi Khola Hydropower Project.

The Cabinet also decided to receive the report submitted by a committee formed to investigate former Home Minister and House of Representatives member Sudhan Gurung.
