Today's Cabinet Meeting for provincial appointments postponed to Wednesday
KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting which was earlier scheduled for 4:00 pm today has been postponed.
The meeting was postponed after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's efforts to forge inter-party consensus to appoint provincial heads and temporary province offices could not materialise.
The meeting has now been rescheduled for Wednesday morning, according to PM Deuba's press coordinator Govinda Pariyar.
While government sources have been claiming that the delay in provincial appointments is due to differences between the major parties, the left-alliance has been stating that provincial appointments are solely the government's decision, their agreement is not needed for which.
