KATHMANDU, MAY 4

The government has decided to once again recommend to the President the issuance of an ordinance related to the Constitutional Council.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers took the decision, according to government spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel. The ordinance had earlier been returned by the President for reconsideration.

The Cabinet also agreed to accept a concessional loan of 52 million US dollars from the World Bank, along with a grant of five million dollars, to support replacement of traditional boilers with electric ones and improve air quality monitoring.

In addition, it granted in-principle approval to Agricultural Inputs Company Limited to procure 60,000 metric tonnes of urea and 20,000 metric tonnes of double superphosphate fertiliser from India under a government-to-government arrangement.

The Cabinet also agreed to consider a revised master plan for the Singha Durbar premises, including provisions related to entry to the Federal Parliament area.
