Call to include disabled in CA polls
Lalitpur, December 21:
Speakers at a programme today said that disabled people should get a chance to participate in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election.
They expressed such views at a programme organised by the Nepal Disabled Human Rights Centre on ‘Role of Political Leaders and Human Rights Activists on the Participation of Disabled in the CA Polls’.
Stressing on the need for participation of all classes and communities to build a new Nepal, speakers said that the time has come to make agreements out of the disagreements.
Participating political leaders said the state has failed to include the issues of the disabled people and called on all to focus on holding the CA polls as soon as possible.
General Secretary of the National Human Rights Foundation, Bhawani Prasad Kharel, Chairman of the Human Rights Joint Forum, Charan Prasai, Chairwoman of the Centre for Legal Help and Counselling, Shanta Thapaliya, CP Gajurel of the CPN-Maoist, and Keshab Badal of the CPN-UML said all should work in unison to hold the CA polls.
