Anti-Filariasis drive

LALITPUR: The government has begun a campaign for the eradication of elephantiasis from the country. As per the campaign, mass drugs administration has begun from Saturday. District public health officer Rishi Prasad Lamichhane said that some 2,000 volunteers have been deployed in the district for the purpose. He said the drugs would be distributed to some 400,000 persons in the district for free.

KATHMANDU: DB Pariyar, vice-president, Committee for the Uplift and Advancement of Oppressed, Downtrodden and the Dalits, has been honoured with the Dr Ambedkar International Prize in recognition of his contribution to the liberation of Dalits in Nepal. President of the Jagajiban Ram Kala Culture and Literature Academy, Dr NS Khowa honoured Pariyar with the award at a conference in Delhi, recently.
