Jailbird dies

KATHMANDU: Krishna Lama (42), who was convicted and subsequently imprisoned in the Central Jail under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, died on Friday night while undergoing treatment at the Bir Hospital. He was admitted to ICU unit of the hospital on January 22, said the police. The cause of the death was not immediately known.

Biker killed in mishap

KATHMANDU: Shiva Prasad Lamsal (32), hailing from Bagauda- 7 of Chitwan, was killed when a motorcycle (Ba 24 Pa 8) he was riding on met with an accident at Basundhara on Friday. According to the police, pillion rider Rajan BK, who hailed from Nuwakot, was injured in the incident. He is undergoing treatment at TUTH.
