Assault condemned
KATHMANDU: Human Rights Organisation Nepal has strongly condemned the assault on head constable of police Prakash Gupta by Constituent Assembly member Om Prakash Yadav in Rupandehi. Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the organisation stated that Yadav had kicked Gupta as he denied saluting the CA member. Yadav had even asked the District Police Office, Rupandehi, to transfer Gupta, the press release stated. This type of incidents may lower the morale of police officials. We request the government to probe into the case, the release added.
Alleged lover rescued
KATHMANDU: The police on Monday night arrested Krishna Lama, hailing from Balaju for helping Suresh Basnet to run away with his alleged lover Menuka Rai hailing from Manamaiju- 2. Basnet had forced Rai to run away with him, police said. A joint team of Balaju Police and Nuwakot Police had apprehended Lama at Kakani. The police, later, handed over teenager Rai to her parents. Basnet is absconding.
