APF training kicks off

KATHMANDU: The basic training course for Armed Police Force Inspectors, who got through an open competition recently kicked off on Friday. The newly appointed Inspectors will undergo training on field craft, battle craft, command, anti-terrorism, crime investigation, human rights and laws of the country.

Plea for social justice

KATHMANDU: Forum for Women Law and Development in a recent

report has called for safeguarding fundamental rights of indigenous people, backward class and women in the new statute. The report

also sought for women’s right to property and reproductive rights. It was handed over to the members of the Constituent Assembly and it pleads for positive discrimination for social justice.

Probe on skeleton

KATHMANDU: The police have launched a probe into a human skeleton recovered from the territory of Godavari Kunda Community Forest in Lalitpur on December 23. The police had recovered a medical prescription bearing the name of Padam Bahadur Shrestha, 60, hailing from Sindhupalchowk district at the site. The process of identifying the skeleton is underway, police said.
