French award
KATHMANDU: French Ambassador to Nepal Gilles Henri Garault on Tuesday declared an award of Rs 1.5 million to Voice of Children and Infants Development. Both the organisations have been working for street children in Nepal for a decade. France confers the best social service award to organisations working in the field of human rights across the country every year.
Hydel project licence
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Energy, as per the November 11 decision of the government, has awarded the licence for 7 MW hydrel generation at Aankhu Khola-1 to Shree Aankhu Khola Hydro-electricity Company
Pvt Ltd, Kathmandu. The project
will be completed by the end of the next fiscal year at an estimated cost of Rs 1 billion. The government has awarded licences for a total of 54 MW hydel generation to private sectors in eight months.
