Paudel-Berry meet

KATHMANDU: US acting ambassador to Nepal, Randy Berry called on Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Paudel at his residence in Balaju, on Monday. The duo discussed the ongoing peace process, statue drafting, implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Accord, rehabilitation and integration of Maoist combatants and also the tenure of UNMIN. Paudel sought UNMIN's role in monitoring the Maoist combatants.

Clean chit to Thapa

KATHMANDU: The Special Court on Monday issued a clean chit to former Home Minister Kamal Thapa who was alleged to have misused state fund to suppress the movement in 2005. A bench of Justices Gauri Karki and Bhola Kharel made the decision. Stating that the CIAA's decision for reimbursement from him was illogical, the Court had issued the clean chit.
