Chabahil Survey Office chief held with bribe
KATHMANDU: Chief of the Chabahil-based Survey Office in Kathmandu has been arrested while receiving Rs 200,000 bribe from a service recipient on Wednesday.
Chief Survey Officer and Under-Secretary Hajari Yadav was taking the bribe from a client via a surveyor of his office today, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority said.
The CIAA team also arrested the surveyor Jitendra Pandit.
Earlier, the anti-corruption constitutional body had received complaints that Yadav would repeatedly seek kickback from members of the public for updating various documents.
Further investigation is underway.
