Chief Secy summoned

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Monday directed Chief Secretary Dr Bhoj Raj Ghimire and two other government secretaries to appear before the apex court on July 6. The bench issued the summon responding to the contempt of court charge.

Shyam Krishna Maskey, a resident of Bhimeshwor-2, Dolakha had lodged a complaint stating that the government had failed to oblige with 17 different directives issued by the apex court.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Min Bahadur Rayamajhi and Justice Kalyan Shrestha issued the order following today’s hearing.

The apex court also summoned Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Dr Kul Ratna Bhurtel and Acting General Secretary of the CA Secretariat Manohar Prasad Bhattarai.

The bench has directed the government officials to appear before the court on July 6 and to record their statements.
