Bhaktapur, August 28:

Ten-year-old Pramod Gurung has been missing from Balkot VDC-1 of Bhaktapur district since Sunday evening.

“We have searched for Pramod in many places, but have not been able to find him,” said his father Pradeep Gurung. The Gurung family hails from Nawalparasi district and has been living in Balkot VDC for five years.

The Gurungs suspect that their child might have been abducted. Gurung is a retired army man. The Gurung family has appealed to human rights activists and journalists to help find out Pramod, a fourth grader at the Jana Chetana English Secondary School in Bhaktapur. Ruing inaction of police, Pradeep said, “Though we informed the police about the incident, they are not taking steps to find out my son.”

A teacher said the boy was a bit mischievous than his classmates and might have gone somewhere with his friends to bother his family.
