KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 6

The Chinese government is set to provide Nepal with one million doses of the SinoVac Covid-19 vaccination under grant assistance.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Health and Population, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, made sure of China's consistent support for Nepal.

According to state minister Shrestha's Twitter account, the Chinese government is also providing further medical aid worth 5 million Renminbi to install preventative measures in our health system in order to save lives from the third wave of the pandemic.

The Chinese government is also giving extra 300,000 vaccines for the Nepal Army under grant support, according to the state minister's tweet.

Meanwhile, Shrestha said that 1.6 million Vero cell vaccinations will arrive in Kathmandu on the 20th, 22nd, and 23rd of October.

Nepal has already administered 8.3 million doses of Vero cell vaccines so far accounting for more than 50 per cent of the total vaccine administered so far, according to Shrestha.
