Chinese envoy calls on Madhav Kumar Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Yu Hong, on Thursday called on senior CPN-UML leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.

During the meeting, Nepal highlighted the bilateral relationship between two neighbours as well as the ties between his party UML and the Communist Party of China.

The former Prime Minister said Nepal was committed to respecting the One China Policy; therefore, would not let any anti-China activities here, informed Nepal's personal secretary Mohan Gautam.

Nepal also welcomed the One Belt: One Road concept developed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and said Nepal was expecting Chinese partnership in energy, trade, education, health, tourism and development of physical infrastructure sectors here.

The leader was hopeful that the bilateral ties between the neighbours would be stronger in Yu's tenure.

In response, the Ambassador said she would deliver the best of her duty to serve interests of both the nations.

She also wished Nepal for the successful Constitution implementation.
