Chinese national held with foreign currencies from TIA
KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday apprehended a Chinese national with possession of a huge sum of undeclared foreign currencies from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the Capital.
Diao Zhujung (Passport number 66079985) was arrested with possession of foreign currencies including USD 8,604, Chinese yuan 2,925 and INR 186, police said.
The currencies were hidden inside two Scotch whisky bottles.
Police said that they have also confiscated prayer beads from his possession.
He has been sent to the Harihar Bhawan-based Customs Office for further investigation
