Chinese youth held with cocaine worth Rs 63.55 mln from TIA

KATHMANDU: Police on Saturday arrested a Chinese youth in possession of a huge cache of cocaine from the Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu .

The 21-year-old Chun Man Ho (Passport number K 02334575) was arrested in possession of 3 kilograms and 178 grams of the illegal drug, which fetch as much as Rs 63.55 million in the international market.

The Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police paraded him amid a press conference in the Capital today.

Police nabbed him during the hold baggage x-ray checking at the nation's only international airport yesterday.

According to the NCB, the youth had received the illegal drug from a Bolivian woman on May 28 and was planning to supply it to Hong Kong concealing in his suitcase. The woman had landed in Kathmandu on May 18 for the transaction.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the man was employed by a Chinese drug dealer currently residing in Hong Kong to smuggle cocaine from cocaine traders of African nations based in various parts of the world.

The Hong Kong-based drug dealer would smuggle the drugs to China, other East Asian nations and as far as Europe.

Chinese youth held with 'cocaine-like' substance from TIA

KATHMANDU: A Chinese youth was arrested in possession of more than three kilos of a substance looking like cocaine from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Ho Chunman (Passport number K 02334575) was about to board a China Southern flight (CZ 3068) to Hong Kong while police nabbed him during the hold baggage x-ray checking at the nation's only international airport yesterday, police said.

Police seized 3 kg 178 gram of the suspicious substance from him.

Police are looking into the case.
