Chure society warns of fresh stir
Kathmandu, April 6:
The Chure Bhawar Region United Society (CBRUS) has warned that it will launch fresh protests if the government does not invite it for talks in a week.
Chairman of the CBRUS, Keshav Mainali, said, “We are waiting for the government’s invite for talks. We will not relent if the government refuses to give us a state comprising 36 districts from Mechi to Mahakali,” he said. We will not visit Singha Durbar, rather we will invite the government to ‘our’ Chure Bhawar region, if the government does not call us for talks.” Demanding an autonomous state extending from Mechi to Mahakali, the CBRUS has been staging protests.
“Since the interim constitution envisages a federal state, it is our right to demand our state. There will not be a monopoly of one ethnicity, language or religion in our state.”
“The CBRUS movement may also hamper CA polls,” he said, adding, “Holding of CA polls without giving us our state will be an exercise in futility.”
