KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority  has arrested Director General at the Inland Revenue Department, Chudamani Sharma, on Friday, accusing him of corruption on fixation of revenue.

On today itself, the CIAA had summoned Director General Sharma at its office to discuss the revenue fixation.

An officer at the CIAA confirmed that Sharma was arrested. "Sharma is now in detention. Additional information will be disclosed only after further investigation."

A dozen of  complaints were filed at CIAA against Director General Sharma on unlawful exemption of tax to businesspersons.
