City cops manage to arrest wanted robber
Kathmandu, December 14:
Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) yesterday arrested Uttam Bahadur Thapa Magar, 20, who hails from Ramechhap, on charge of his involvement in a series of robberies in the capital. Magar, along with his seven accomplices, was under judicial custody at Dhulikhel jail since April 15, but had managed to break the jail on November 14 and was absconding since then. “We found him being involved in three robberies after he broke the jail,” said SSP Upendra Kanta Aryal at the MPCD.
In another case, the police official said that the MPCD has recovered the hacked emails
of Dr Bhagawan Koirala, a renowned cardiologist, with help of Australian Federal Police and Hong Kong Computer Forensic. Dr Koirala’s emails were hacked from a cyber cafe in Orion city, Illinois, USA. The police helped Koirala to reactivate his e-mail as Koirala filed the complaint at the MPCD.
Police also arrested Rishi Raj Acharya, 29, a resident of Tulsipur-6, Dang on charge of demanding ransom over the phone with Khum Lal Bhusal. “Acharya, who is studying Masters in Sociology at Trichandra Campus, used to call Bhusal time and again demanding Rs 500,000 as ransom for safety of his son, a medical doctor,” said DSP Sher Bahadur Shah. Police also arrested Tenji Sherpa, alias Milan Lama, 28, a resident of Dolakha on charge of supplying fake driving licence. Kalu Pariyar and Shova Pariyar have also been arrested on charge of looting people by feeding them drugged food.
